Summer has already started knocking with 40 degrees in some parts of India. It’s the time of aam panna, lassi, chhanch, nimbu pani and summer vacation. So you must have started thinking of this year’s plan as well.
This time you could revive the old childhood summer trips where the biggest attraction was the native villages and our grandparents who used to wait the whole year for this part of the time. Even we used to wait for summer vacation to fill our stomachs with some yummy dishes of our nani’s and dadi’s and their stories.
The stories were of our mischievous parent, their siblings, their school time, their entertainment, simple village life and certainly fairly tales., We used to get simply transported to those rustic days of the past by the fabulous storytellers of any time… Our Grandparents. That’s the magic of the story and the storytellers.
Meet our Story Teller Jungle Boy
At Alaya Resort this summer you can experience the same magic of story with our very own Jungle Boy, Mohan, who is a wildlife photographer, naturalist, and bird watcher.
At Alaya Resort summers will start early with Mohan for a Bird watching walk. The walk will begin with a soft wind blowing, birds chirping at the background and the smell of wet grassland which is very tranquilising.
Mohan, the soft-spoken narrator will soon engage with his enormous knowledge about different species of birds, their types of nests, their period of nesting, the role of male and female birds, and their relationship. In this storytelling walk you will be surprised to know how birds take care of their female partners at the time of nesting which is a deep lesson in life for all of us.
Soon you will fall in love with various species of birds flying wildly in their own habitat and their magnificent colour scheme which can be painted only by nature. In this full-scale nature, you will find Mohan capturing all the actions of the naughty birds in his camera. You might struggle to capture a flying bird, but our Jungle Boy will make a full collage of such shots effortlessly for you.
Unwillingly the walk will come to an end with full excitement for the evening Village walk and you will learn to listen to more stories with Mohan.
But the bird-watching walk with Mohan will activate your senses and will force you to think if as city dwellers we are losing connection with nature.
